Spotlight on Parishioners
Charles and Kirk Baran-Bookman moved to sunny south Florida in October 2020 and one of the first priorities was to find a Church in which they felt at home. During the Pandemic, they watched the Christmas Eve Service on Facebook Live and it made their Holiday special. Then in January, they attended an “outdoor parking lot Mass”(their first visit to Saint Mark’s) and they knew that they had found their new spiritual home. They began attending the Saturday morning “Fellowship and Fitness” walks along the beach with several members of Saint Mark’s which led to Charles creating a “welcome” video for the Church website, using his creative skills in film and editing. Since that time Kirk has become an active member of the Book Club, while Charles has joined the choir and become a lector at the Sunday Service. Charles and Kirk found that “Saint Mark’s is a friendly community-based church, welcoming everyone, that offers opportunities for service and involvement.”
