Celebration of Life – James Hairston (2/26)
On Saturday, February 26 we celebrated the life of James Hairston with a beautiful service and reception. Jim was a long time parishioner and served as a former vestry member and parish treasurer. Jim lived a full and adventurous life. He flew helicopters in the U. S. Marine Corps, he loved sports, opera, traveling, exploring other cultures, meeting new friends. He read voraciously and with intent.
10:30 am – Church Service Music Highlight (3/6)
The Anthem for this Sunday is the “Cantique de Jean Racine” by Gabriel Faure, who also wrote last Sunday's “Sanctus”. The “Cantique”was first published in 1875/76, when Faure was only 19 years old.   The words to the music are taken from French playwright Jean Racine, but the music is all Faure! Lyrical, emotional.
Lenten Monday Evening Bible Study – Mondays (3/7 – 3/28)
via Zoom with Dr. Norm Carroll
This Monday, March 7, Dr. Norm Carroll will lead a zoom discussion on this Sunday's Gospel: Luke 4:1-13, Jesus Tested in the Wilderness.  Parishioners will receive an email each Monday afternoon with instructions for joining the zoom meeting. The discussion begins at 7:00 pm.
Lenten Soup/Salad and Study Series – Tuesday Evenings (3/8 – 4/5)
Father Harvey will be leading us in our Lenten Study Series, starting March 8, which begins with a soup and dinner at 6:00 pm in the Parish Hall, followed by the series in the church. The Study will be focused on the Book of common Prayer. The richness and beauty of the Book of Common Prayer is the foundation of the Episcopal Church. It can help us find comfort, peace and renewal when used in our daily lives. While the focus of the study sessions is The Book of Common Prayer, each lesson stands alone, so if you miss an evening, you won't be behind for the next session. Bring your family and friends. The evening will end by 8:00 pm. The Vestry will be hosting this Tuesday's (March 8) dinner.
Saint Mark's School – Parent Association (PA) Raise Craze Collection
for Kids In Distress and Feeding South Florida (3/6)
The school's PA and students of Saint Mark's are “paying it forward”. The children “pay it forward” by doing works of kindness, which supports the PA's goa to update various projects on behalf of the school. The PA is planning a wonderful upgrade to the school's Tech Center. There is a food drive collection campaign, along with collection campaign for with Target to collect gift cards for Kids in Distress. Please put your items in the box, located on the table at the entrance of the Church by this Sunday, March 6. Volunteers will take them to the School Office. Sounds like a win/win for everyone and a great teachable moment for the students. The chair and school parent of this year's Raise Craze, Michelle Lyman, attended our service last Sunday to personally seek our parishioners' support.
