Welcome to our new Rector Grant Wiseman! He plays the guitar and loves music. Bodes well!

Our wonderful Choir Director Gordon Roberts has lost no time in organizing the choir to create amazing music for Sunday worship and for 2 special events coming up- our July 31 farewell to our Priests in Residence and our Aug. 7 welcoming service for Fr. Wiseman!

Have fun with the links to sample recordings of the music below that will be sung – Gordon’s selections are glorious, and reflect the special services’s themes.

July 24 – Our own Soprano Section Leader Elyse Anderson will sing “Migratory V” by  Guettel for us!

Elyse Anderson- Elyse is a professional singer, writer, and teacher. She studied Vocal Performance and Opera at the Peabody Institute, while pursuing a degree in Art History at Johns Hopkins! She studied Musical Theatre Writing at New York’s Tisch School. Her original works have been performed at several theaters—she is currently a Theater Teacher at American Heritage as well as our soloist!

July 31 – Farewell Service. The choir will sing “Go Not Far” by Zingarelli.  We have a special singer, Everett Ford, who will sing “The Holy City” by Weatherly .

Everett Ford studied Classical Voice Performance at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music. He is one of the youngest contracted Choristers with the Florida Grand Opera and has sung with churches and synagogues across South Florida.

Aug. 7 – Welcome Service. The choir will sing “With a Voice of Singing” by Shaw , – and we will have a special singer Chris Waite who will sing “The Lord is my Light” by Allitson.

Chris Waite-is a sought after recitalist. He has performed as the tenor soloist in oratorio performances throughout North America. He has directed musical theatre productions and sung with the New York Oratorio Society, York Symphony Chorus, St. Louis Philharmonic and many more.

And… July 31 Gordon’s amazing student Asael Cuesta Cardona will join us a Section Leader of the Altos, and will sing for us in August as well. He is a counter tenor- the highest male singing voice.

Asael Cuesta Cardona- Asael began his vocal studies in his native Colombia. He has a Bachelor of Music with emphasis on classical violin from the Universidad Del Valle. At a young age he has won many, many awards – and has studied the history and interpretation of Latin American Music. He is a student of Gordon Roberts, who predicts an amazing career for him!

Enjoy the music we have prepared! Thankyou to ALL our amazing singers and to our Choir Director for sharing your gifts with St. Mark’s.

Blessings to you All, Robin Dreyfuss and Mike Mullins
