Welcome Gift for Fr. Grant and Heather Wiseman
Several people have come forward with interest in supplying a welcome give for Fr. Grant and Heather on their first Sunday, August 7th. The idea is a gift basket. We have asked them their food and beverage preferences. They have no dietary restrictions and they do take wine and some spirits. Ideal gifts would be favorite snacks, and gift cards for your favorite restaurants. Maybe Trader Joe’s. Heather is an avid reader. They enjoy walking and the arts, out-of-the-way dining, and of course, their dogs. They will be living near the center of Wilton Manors. There is a sign-up sheet at the entrance of the church. Subscribing to His Daily Blog
On Sunday, our new Rector, Father Grant Wiseman delivered his last sermon at St. Thaddeus in Aiken, SC. It was beautiful and inspirational. You may want to check it out. He has such a great singing voice and plays the guitar in the service. What a gift. The sermon is available at

Father Grant offers up each day prayerful thoughts that are often relatable to the events of the prior days or coming days. You can subscribe to his

The Complete Christian – Norm Carroll
Our nursery is coming back! Would you like to help us get it underway by donating to this “I am baptized, attend Eucharist, and even contribute to my parish every Sunday? I am a good Christian: or am I?” These practices carry great importance, but Jesus asserts in today’s gospel, “There is need of only one thing, and that is: living his life which has 2 components. First, discovering in prayer (like Mary), what Jesus taught and did. For example, notice that Jesus affirms Mary’s meditation without disparaging Martha in any way. Second, living his example in our own daily life and relationships (Martha). Then, you will have chosen the better part, and it will not be taken from you. (Norm Carroll)
Sunday Church Service Nursery Restart at Saint Mark’s
Our nursery is coming back! Would you like to help us get it underway by donating to this ministry? We are looking for nursery attendants to restart our program on Sundays running from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. Are you young at heart and have a calling for helping children? We are looking for you! Give our Saint Mark’s little ones a fun and nurturing experience in our nursery. Or if you know someone who may be interested, please have them contact the Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church office. Helping the Hungry in Our Community
Saint Mark’s is stepping up to help alleviate hunger in our community. We have two important programs: first our food bag ministry. This program is geared toward the homeless on the streets. The Senior Guild packs zip lock bags of all sorts of non-perishable foods, along with prayers from our parish. People do appreciate the help. We fund the program through a donation of $2 per bag.
We are, also, collecting food for The Pantry of Broward. This is the time of year when the cupboards can be quite bare. They were so glad to receive our delivery last week. In addition to food, they are gathering school supplies. Please drop your donations in the labeled box at the entrance of the church. Thank you, Kirk Bookman, for leading this great effort and for your work at the Pantry. If you may be interested in helping, please contact Kirk; at
